Golf Course Photography | Golf Event Photography

Ian has played competitive sport since he was 10 years old. He played A Grade pennant tennis and squash before taking up golf some 35 years ago. When living in Melbourne he was member of an iconic sand belt golf club. After moving to live on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, he joined a local championship club. He embarked on photography as a hobby after retiring from the demands of international business and several years living overseas.

After studying under some of Victoria’s most renowned photographers, it was his passion for golf, coupled with the beauty and creativity of golf course architecture, and how light and shade bring it to life, that generated his enthusiasm for golf photography.

He finds many similarities with standing on a tee and  behind a camera. In golf, one is competing against a course. In most other sports, one competes against an opponent or team. As a golf course photographer one is placed in the position of creating something of beauty from the undulations, light and and landscape canvas. He sees photography as another competition with the course. The latter, is inevitably challenging and immensely rewarding when delivering beauty and fond memories to his customers
